Anna's Retired

AKA THE NUTSHELL, VOLUME 3. After my Mom suddenly died 55 yrs young, I journalled every morning over coffee. When I filled a complete notebook,it represented my life in a Nutshell, which felt "Nuts" at the time. Writing is an armor against what is bothering you, a "shell" of sorts. So I enteratined myself by flipping that journal over and writing "the Nutshell" on the front...I found it so clever I named the second notebook I filled "The Nutshell, Volume 2". Sometimes you feel like a Nut...

Happy Valentine's Day

This is the second to newest trick..."the twist". You only do it to one side. The bow is off kilter because sometimes this involves a spirited lailing of the arms over the head at the end. The newest trick is turnaround. You stand in place and look over your shoulder and start turning, next thing you know, you are turing in circles! Where do they get cute stuff like that? So cute. She is also sticking herself to the fridge like the magnets. One day she was playing with her magnets and we noticed she had turned around and was very carefully walking in reverse until she was fully in contact with the fridge for the full length of her body. She was pretending to be a magnet!!

So now we do turnarounds and magnets in the hallway. When we came home from our weekend getaway, all of us--Mike, Ceil, Sarah, me and ER, we all pretended to be magnets in the hallway. She was thrilled.

Today she wore a special present from her friend Emma Rose for Valentine's Day at school. I nded to see if I have a better picture of the shirt. It has a BIRDIE on it and says "Tweet Heart"....HOW PERFECT IS THAT!!!!!?????

I found a picture. If you click on it you can see better. What I want to know is where do I get a pair of kicking jeans like that?

First week of February, Photojournal Part 2!

We are on our own this week! Mike is gone this week so it is just us four girls. Well, thanks to Nane, it was us 5 girls the first night.

What a great favor to help me out-we had such a nice time. She brought food and a video and we've made good use of them both.

We've actually been fine, but I was pretty scared. For the most part, we've done exactly what we do every week. Even with the funky weather. It's been fun, like an adventure. The only real changes are I'm sleeping on the wrong side of the bed, and eating stuff like cereal or yogurt or sandwiches for dinner. I am quite the renegade.

Here is where Ellen has been enjoying her Stranger in the woods video from Nane and her morning and nightly videos her dad made for while he is gone.

Then today she had her first Doodle Bugs ("gymnastics") class. They ran in a circle, imitated elephants, monkeys, snackes and cats, crawled through tunnels, threw and kicked balls, and did flips down a big plastic wedge. The teacher opened class by saying "this class is to wear them out!" That's money well spent right there.

Hard to beat sleeping with your franny in the air!

New trick:
First you get turned around...

Then you put it in reverse and (this is the technical part) scooch.

Then you can commence to swinging your legs! :)

It got cold but we did not let that stop us!
